A fairy tale ending

Once upon a time, there was a sweet little princess who wore her crown EVERYWHERE she went.

She wore it during the day…

…and she wore it at night.

The princess wore her crown in good times…

And during periods of strife.

She even wore her crown in the royal bubble bath.

And of course, at high tea.

The princess LOVED her crown, and would banish anyone who attempted to remove it.

One day, though, the crown met its end. The princess was devastated, and the entire kingdom suffered dire consequences.

The townspeople tried everything to repair the princess’s crown. While wire, zip ties and rubber bands failed, hot glue was a success!

The kingdom rejoiced!

But it was not to be.

The princess refused sleep, tossing and turning, and demanding the crown be replaced into the wee hours of the morning.

When the exhausted royal family thought all hope was lost, the Queen suddenly remembered that she was of Bornemeier blood, and a solution became immediately apparent.

The duct tape worked perfectly, just as it had for the kings and queens before her.

The princess, with her crown once more, was radiant and happy.

A restful sleep fell over the entire kingdom…

…and they lived happily ever after.

Sooo funny! Grampa Great says we just found another new use for duct tape–but he never dreamed it would save a whole kingdom! Darling post–you must save this for Olivia! Linda says for her wedding day!

Hose clamps are a must have also…would probably work in this case as well, but perhaps not an “princess” like.

    Agreed–very funny, sweet, triumphant post!

I thought maybe you were exaggerating a bit about how often she wore it, but the impressive number of photos says otherwise!

Most times when I check the blog for new posts, I just “click on by” when there isn’t a new one up. This post is different. I have read the entire post over again each time it appears. Every. Single. Time.

This is one of the best posts ever and rivals the video post Bryan did (approximately) April 2005 of Ava in her bassinet to the tune of “When You Dream” by Barenaked Ladies. Remember that one?

  10. […] A few posts are just classics—exactly the kind of things we should be documenting in this virtual book of babies, like this post about Ava’s run in with a pair of safety scissorsĀ and the genesis of Olivia’s ongoing love affair with tiaras. […]
