Overheard: Owen’s vacation edition

A growing compendium…

Owen: “I need some sunscream. I’m in my swimsoup.”

As the sun went under a cloud: “What’s happening?! The sun is broken!”

“I’m sad because I can’t be naked.”

In response to his sisters’ requests to swim out a bit futher: “It’s nice RIGHT HERE.” (Right by the dock, where I hope he never leaves.)

“Where are my girls?”

In response to this catch: “NONONONONONO.”

And to this little bird at the Freeport zoo: “Oh, you’re so cute.”

Every morning this week: “It’s my birthday today!”

Owen Fix

Bryan: “Owen, time to get dressed.”

Owen: “Are you CRAZY? I’m playing with my trains.”

Persistence

Owen: “Can I hold the hedge trimmer?”

Bryan: “No. It’s not safe.”

Owen: “Can I hold the hedge trimmer?”

Bryan: “No.”

Owen: “Can I hold the hedge trimmer?”

Bryan: “No.”

Owen: “Can I hold the hedge trimmer?”

Bryan: “No.”

Owen: “Can I hold the hedge trimmer?”

Happy birthday, Bryan!

We love you so much. Can’t wait to see what the next year brings for you!

Photos from home

From New York, I asked Bryan (who was in Chicago until the day before yesterday), to send me a photo from home. Now I’m sharing it with you, wherever you may be (if you’re reading this, you’re likely in Nebraska). Hope we are all together again soon!

Snuggle up

Our new king-sized bed is very popular among the littles…

(Also, note Sleeping Bunny has been returned to her rightful owner, thankfully!)
