He’s making a list

Reindeer games

Owen’s caught the holiday spirit–bouncing around singing carols while pleading to open presents. He’s watched Home Alone far too many times and can’t wait for the grandparents to arrive. Today, he helped me mix up a batch of reindeer food, and promised a batch of cookies for Santa, too.

Happy holidays!

Christmas pup

Our yellow dog is settling in, growing bigger with every passing day. He’s not quite as calm as he was when we brought him home this time last month (and he’s developed an unfortunate liking for high heels), but he’s sweet with the kids and pretty darn cute.

Overheard

“Don’t lick the dog WHY DO I HAVE TO SAY THINGS LIKE THIS.”

Happy 80th!

Grampa Great turned 80 last weekend, and we joined him for a celebration in Lincoln. He’s made life amazingly fun for three generations of kids, and we love him so much!

Overheard

Owen: “What’s for dinner tonight?”

Me: “I’m not sure yet, bud.”

Owen: “Pancakes…?!”

Me: “No, Daddy doesn’t like pancakes.”

Owen: “Well OWEN likes pancakes.”

Overheard

Two real-life Santa sightings and a screening of Home Alone has Owen in the holiday spirit this weekend.

“Ho ho ho! I’m Santa. I have presents in my bag!”

It’s the most wonderful

Truly one of my favorite holiday events–made even better by gorgeous weather and happy kids.

Owen and August

Owen is pretty sure that August is his, and his alone.
