Owen loves seeing himself in the camera on my phone. Never to early for a selfie, I suppose.

Overheard
Olivia: “I’ve been alive for six years. Do you know how I know that? You just say the age you are, then add ‘years’ after. ‘I’ve been alive for six years.’ See?”
Rebecca: “I’ve been alive for 35 years.”
Olivia: “Whoa…”

Me: “Bye, Owen!”
Owen: “Bye bye.”
Me: “I love you!”
Owen: “I love you!”
…and then my heart burst open right then and there. Aunt Katie was there to witness it!

Overheard
Ava, sharing news of her Wednesday night Girl Scout meeting via FaceTime: “And I got to bring home a guppy! And, IT’S PREGNANT. Pregnant guppies can have 2o to 200 babies!”
Me: “Wait…what? We’re going to have 200 fish? This seems like a significant oversight on someone’s part.”

Under the sea…
Here are a few of the details from Livie’s mermaid party, including the sweet little birthday girl herself.
We sent invitations tiny messages in little bottles. US mail yielded faster delivery than water transport.
We decorated with seashells from Grampa Great’s collection, as well as treasure chests, pearls and other items from Mom and Karyl.
Mom made an angel food cake, and Ava helped me with a shell cake.
And, speaking of Ava, I can’t even…
Number six cookies, of course!
Gift boxes, with chocolate coins, inflatable fish toys and a few other goodies for my nieces and nephews:
Starfish Rice Krispy treats:
And little “oysters” with candy pearls.
Jellyfish from lanterns and ribbon (hung with care by Uncle Josh):
And a couple more shots of sweet Livie Lou!
Thanks to everyone who was able to join us, and for those who sent greetings from afar.
