Just in case you need to know RIGHT NOW where the best fall color is, the US Forest Service has created a hotline for up-to-the-minute reports on the matter. There’s also a new Web site that highlights specific states and parks. Sadly, none of my favorites are represented, but perhaps they will be added later.
We’re just starting to see a few changing leaves here. It’s going to be nearly 90 degrees today, so while it doesn’t feel like fall, it looks a bit like it.
What’s it like where you are?

In eastern Nebraska, it’s 81 degrees and climbing. I talked with Linda at the cabin yesterday, and most of the color is already gone up there. Glad we got to enjoy some of it several weeks ago.

It was 85 here yesterday – went to Vala’s with Jason, Debbie and the boys – it was a beautiful day, even though very warm. The leaves are starting to turn here – the maples, sumacs, and burning bushes – but not too much color yet.

We were Up North this weekend. About 80% of the leaves are already on the ground. Mid 70’s, weather was perfect. We were able to see the cottages along the lake with no leaf obstructions on the “martini run”.
