Ava started third grade today. She spent the morning dancing and singing to music, pausing only long enough to plead with us to allow an exception to our “no wedges at school” rule. (“MOM, it’s the first day. FIRST DAAAAAAAY.”)
She remarked her outfit made her look like a “work lady” rather than a schoolgirl, and then added a very sparkly, large ring to her left hand.
She’s confident and cool and ready for the year.
Ava with her teacher, Mrs. Harrison (who, by the way, is reportedly QUITE fun).
Off to a great start!

These are heart-breaking. I know she has to grow up, but I don’t want her to change. What a darling child.

These photos make ME want to go back to third grade. How fun to walk up to a desk with your name on it and a stack of school supplies. Have a wonderful year, Ava Kate!

I agree with Laura…these photos make me want to be back in school. Love the backpack and new crayons. Heaven–and also, she is so beautiful!!
