Day two

We awoke to another two or three inches of snow this morning—just enough to cover everything Bryan cleared yesterday. He’s hard at work already: Having finished our drive, he’s working on a few more in the neighborhood. I imagine he will head into the lab this morning.

The rest of us will be staying put. Olivia selected our first movie of the day (Rudolph), and there’s already been a request to make another batch of cookies. I’m hoping for more sledding, and perhaps a nap later for at least a couple of us.

Snow totals seem to be hovering right around a foot throughout the city. What’s it like where you are?

Storm ‘Q’ started here on Wednesday morning and subsided after dark yesterday. We were hard-hit with 18″ of wind-driven snow and spent most of yesterday trying to stay ahead of it with (unsuccessful) snow removal efforts. It’s 8 degrees, with bright blue skies this morning. Very pretty! I’m sure my opinion of this storm’s beauty will be downgraded by the end of the day. We’re supposed to get dropped-on again Sunday and Monday. Have fun on your bonus snow day!

We got maybe 6-8 inches, no blowing. I ran out of gas running the snow blower. The snow was dense and it was slow going and the rate of gas consumption was much higher!

  3. In Verona, WI, we only got 2 inches last night, and perhaps another inch today. Pretty tame 🙂
