Big 12

There’s a part of me that struggles with Nebraska’s new Big Ten designation (and I say that as  Wisconsin alum). So, I’m grateful we still have a Big 12 tie, and we’re cheering extra hard for the Jayhawks this year. Not that it’s much of a struggle—the players have heart, the fans are great, and the coach is a fellow Husker.

We took advantage of Saturday’s Homecoming events and headed to campus for the parade, a quick (but fun!) event for work, and then the game. It was about 35 degrees out when I took this photo at 7:30; by 2 pm, we were sporting sunburns in the stadium.

More on the fun weekend soon!

I’m just wondering–do you still sing “there is no place like Nebraska” when crossing the state line????? Those little girls look like they are becoming true “Jayhawks”–we may have to work on that! Cornhuskers or Jayhawks, we love them regardless!!!!

We do! And, we sing it whenever Nebraska scores a touchdown.

The last time the girls traveled across the border with us, Bec told them if Gramma and Papa didn’t know all the words to the Nebraska song, they could call mommy and daddy to help sing! For the record, we got it mostly right!

Two beautiful girls…they are even beautiful in KU blue. At least it’s not Wisconsin red!

Darling girls! We try to sing the Nebraska song whenever we cross the line with the girls – we only can remember the first several lines, unfortunately.
