When Katie and I were little, Gramma Great would help us make paper chains to count down the days before Christmas. About a month ago, we made one for Ava to help her keep track of the start date for first grade. After this morning, there’s only three left!

I don’t know if she’s worried, but she’s completely unhinged the last few days. I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt–I hope it will pass once she realizes everything will be okay. She’s very sad to say goodbye to her friends and teachers at Montessori, though we keep reminding her she will still see them regularly. She’s not sleeping as much as she should be, and she’s WAY dramatic, but I hope all of this will shake out in the next week or so.
