Rock Chalk

We took the girls to the WNIT championship game today to cheer on the Jayhawk women. Allen Fieldhouse at KU is an incredible place–small by some comparisons, but steeped in so much tradition that it’s palpable the moment you walk into the arena.

Olivia had a great time clapping along with the crowd.

Ava had a great time, too–she gave Baby Jay a high five and saw the govenor (she later told our friend Tom that Governor Sebelius is going to Washington to work with President Obama). She did find it to be a bit loud, though…

In all fairness, this is a decible rating you can see on the scoreboard here, so I see her point.

To make up for it, we took a trek down to the court to meet up with a special friend.

The Jayhawks didn’t win, but we had a great time nonetheless!

I think your daughters should become official mascots along with the Jayhawk – they are so adorable!

Love Ava and the big jay. The Jayhawk, is that it?

Yes–the Jayhawk. Ava high-fived Baby Jay and sat next to Big Jay for this photo.
