Ava: “Mom, you forgot to call Grandpa Gary on his birthday.”
Bec: “No I didn’t, I talked to him last night.”
Ava: “Really? When?”
Bec: “Remember when I was putting laundry into the washing machine and you were standing behind me saying, ‘Mom? Mom? Mommy? Mooooom? Mom?’ Then.”
Ava: “Oh, right…”

Karyl asked about Owen’s curls below, so I thought I’d share a recent, pre-haircut photo. They were getting just a bit wild, and so a trim seemed in order. I am happy to note, though, Owen’s hair did retain some wave, especially at the nape of his neck. And, as Diane said (with a barely contained note of sadness), “Well, I suppose they will grow back…”

Grampa Great
We spent Labor Day welcoming overnight guests, hosting a party for friends, carting kids to gymnastics and a birthday celebration, and THEN driving to my mom’s for what was left of the long weekend. While the visit was short, it was indeed sweet. Olivia especially appreciated some time with Grampa Great (who, I think it’s safe to say, is even more beloved than that favorite, raggedy blanket).
