Baby cheeks and baby curls…

When I told Ava that I would like to take a picture of her on her last day of second grade, she rolled her eyes, sighed, and said “Mom, it’s not like this is my fifth grade recognition celebration.”

At least she managed a smile regardless.

It has been a great year for us. Ava’s teacher, Mr. Fowler, has been wonderful. Ava has made great progress across the board, and I’m very proud of how hard she has worked this year. Look out, third grade!

Bec: “I should really blog again at some point.”

Katie: “Yes. If only someone close to you–or in your immediate family, even–had a major life change recently.”

Bec: “What? Who?”

Katie: “ME. I moved to Kansas.”

Bec: “Oh, right. I already covered that.”

Katie: “IN THE CAT POST?!”

Bec: “Yeah. No good?”

Katie: “No.”

Olivia: “Is that the fuzz from when you mended my blanket?”

Rebecca: “Yes… I suppose you’d like to keep it?”

Olivia: “Well, I would like to keep it for my fuzz collection.”

I’m not sure Dagny loves Olivia as much as Olivia loves Dagny.

Ava and her friend Emma are working on a screenplay about two kids who sneak out of the house and travel to a different solar system (one made entirely of candy, naturally). There’s a snag, though, in that they are caught by their parents upon their return. No problem—the children just erase their parents’ minds, and everyone lives happily ever after (or something like that)…
