Olivia has a completely new smile! After many months of braces, she’s celebrating with a bag of previously off-limits candy, provided by the orthodontist (?!…he must get a kickback from the dentist next door).
The next challenge is to keep hold of a wildly expensive and removable retainer. Bry texted from the appointment: “Dogs love them, apparently.” I suggested ordering a backup immediately.

Olivia started soccer last week; she will play on an indoor team for the next couple of months. (Practice conveniently follows piano by 10 minutes…we ALMOST make it on time).
While she insists she’s terribly nervous about the prospect of never scoring a goal, you’d never know it. She literally skips between exercises and doles out high fives left and right.

My sweet, funny Livie Lou Who turned eight this weekend, and we celebrated with an art party in Nebraksa. Many thanks to Doug and Karyl for hosting, and to the aunts, uncles and cousins were able to join us following the holiday.
Livie is smart, hilarious and kind. A bit mercurial, too, which just makes her that much more intriguing. We love her with all our hearts.
