A&O Fix

The girls have had a bit of cabin fever lately. Fortunately, the sidewalks are finally melting!

Snow business

Five or six extra inches of snow last night, coupled with dangerously low wind chill temperatures, kept us at home today. This is the first time in four winters I’ve ever seen this much snow here. In fact, this may be more than we’ve had the last few years combined. I love it, and the girls, who are indulging in movies and popcorn all day, are pretty happy too.

Snuggle up, buttercup

My mom made the girls matching “snuggies” after Ava saw them on TV and had to have one. Now, she can do all sorts of wild things!

These have been handy this weekend—it’s brutally cold here. We have eight or so inches of snow (another three last night), and the temperatures haven’t moved much out of the single digits. What’s it like where you are?

Somehow, Santa found us…

Despite a blizzard that put us about 200 miles off our intended course this week, Santa found Ava and Olivia at Gramma Great’s house, where we camped out for five days and watched the wind whip the snow into six foot drifts. More photos soon!

Merry Christmas!

A letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

What will you give to me this year? Whatever you bring, I will appreciate. Please bring Olivia something good.

Please be careful in the snowstorm. I wish next year I could ride along in your sleigh.

I know I said I would appreciate anything you bring me, but I would really like a cupcake factory. I hope you bring presents for the grown-ups, too.

And did you know that I am going to be five, and I am going to go to Disneyland to see Cinderella?

Remember when I sat on your lap at the mall? That was really fun, and Olivia’s face was really funny. (Photo to come…)

Santa, I love you. Good bye, dear Santa. Good night. I’ll go to bed before you come.

Love,

Ava

Overheard

Ava: Is Mrs. Claus real?

Bec: What do you think?

Ava: I don’t know…

Bry: Of course she is. Do you think Santa is organized enough to pull off something as big as Christmas all by himself? He needs a woman’s help.
