Olivia had her first day of real reading yesterday, at least as proclaimed by her preschool teacher, Purviz. She wrote and read a list that, as her sister pointed out, very much resembles a recent second grade spelling test. So, I think we’re on the right track here, even if Olivia still insists on pronouncing H “hetch.”
I’m really proud of Olivia, and I’m excited for her, too. Reading brings such independence, and I can’t wait to watch her grow in this new direction.
