We stopped in Nebraska for Leo’s third birthday party, and spend the night at Doug and Karyl’s with Aunt Laura. Their gardens are in top form–and the slide is too, thanks to a bit of wax paper and help from Grandma and Grandpa Smith!

It is so nice seeing photos of our place – like I told Laura, all I generally see are the flaws – and all that needs to be done. But you and Laura remind me how beautiful it really is here this year! We are finally getting some much needed rain – sure hope we get an inch to two!

When I showed Ava the giant mushroom, she mentioned that So-and-So Minderman doesn’t like mushrooms. Is that a friend of hers?

Ginger Emily Minderman. Never just “Ginger.” She’s one of Ava’s preschool friends–she attended her birthday party. Ava adores her.
