I found this recipe for a breakfast tart in the latest Williams-Sonoma catalog and finally made it last weekend. The crust is docked puff pastry topped with crème fraîche and Gruyère cheese, and the tart is topped with bacon and eggs. Very easy and very pretty!

Ava’s wrapping up a gift for Bryan.
The first part of the surprise is that it’s the phone he’s been looking for. The second surprise? She used his unfinished crossword puzzle for wrapping paper.
It’s the thought that counts.

Liana came down for a visit this weekend–we are so thrilled to have her and Coca. We’ve had a wonderful day–brunch, a long walk (in relatively warm weather), yoga, knitting, massages, manicures and soon, dinner out. That’s just day one! I secretly hope she never leaves.
(Don’t worry about Liv there–she’s just mad Bryan took away the camera.)

Bec: “What did he do?”
Ava: “He made a song.”
Bec: “A song. Really.”
Ava: “Yeah, ‘Twinkle, twinkle little star.'”

Ava: Nope.
Bec: Well, do you know who does like tomatoes? Grandma Smith.
Ava: Let’s send them to her then.
