Sunday morning outing

We took the girls to the zoo bright and early on Sunday morning. We were hoping to avoid the heat, so we arrived just as it opened at 9 a.m. We were one of just a handful of families there, and we even got to see the zookeepers feeding the eagles and the bears.

“Nemo?”

This bird whistled at everyone that walked by.

If I had a farm, I’d have a fleet of these geese. A fleet? Or a flock?

Trying to keep cool…

We ended the trip with a train ride around the neighboring park.

Thanks for more than a “shadow” picture! What a nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Looks like a pretty place. –If you had a lot of those geese around, you might have second thoughts. We have spent some time trying to convince the Canada geese NOT to come ashore here!

A gaggle of geese? Anyway, I would have thought you’d have had your fill of fowl with Eddie and Matilda.

Cute photos in the pool and at the zoo! I love the one of Ava and Nemo. Looks like child-proofing is in order again now that Olivia is mobile. We’d better get busy!

Olivia is VERY mobile. She can cover the entire distance of the first floor, and now she’s starting to walk on her hands and feet, rather than crawling on her knees. She’s also pulling herself up readily. We’re not prepared, either–Ava was 18 months old when we moved into this house, so we didn’t have to do much baby proofing. All of the furniture is bolted down, but that’s about it.
