Temperatures were in the high 90s yesterday, and it’s already 90 here this morning. The forecast high is 101 for today. The nice thing about all this heat is that if you fill a wading pool at noon, it’s warmer than a bath by 4 p.m.

Sunday morning outing
We took the girls to the zoo bright and early on Sunday morning. We were hoping to avoid the heat, so we arrived just as it opened at 9 a.m. We were one of just a handful of families there, and we even got to see the zookeepers feeding the eagles and the bears.
“Nemo?”
This bird whistled at everyone that walked by.
If I had a farm, I’d have a fleet of these geese. A fleet? Or a flock?
Trying to keep cool…
We ended the trip with a train ride around the neighboring park.
