This is only our second spring in Kansas, and since we had a very hard freeze mid-way through last year there was a lot that we missed around our yard.
Fortunately, everything is so lush and green this year. I’m trying to fully appreciate it now, because it won’t be long until temperatures soar in the 100s. And, when Bryan gets the first $200 water bill sometime in July, he’ll remind me that this is Kansas, and things are supposed to be brown come summer.
So, enjoy!

Very beautiful, but with a note of caution. Those pretty white flowers on the lilies of the valley will turn into little red berries, which are highly poisonous. Our wisteria vine on the pergola is actually in bloom! I’ll get Doug out to document this amazing, long awaited event!

Beautiful flowers! Thanks for the reminder about the lily of the valley… Coca eats plants sometimes.

Gorgeous photos, Rebecca! I love the second of the hostas and the third of those lovely purple flowers (what are those, anyway?).

I don’t remember red berries on the lilies of the valley, but I do remember being told they were poisonous and trying everything to kill the ones that were on the inside of the fence in the house yard when the girls were growing up. I usually pulled them up when they bloomed, probably why I don’t remember the berries. Despite my efforts, they continued to grow, year after year after year. They are virtually indestructible!
Very beautiful photos! I, too, love the hosta photo. They almost look like they are “painted.”
