Snowbound
I mentioned that we were snowed in at my grandparents’ for quite a few days. It wasn’t just the 18 inches of snow that was problematic, it was that the wind blew 40 miles an hour for three days, whipping up incredible drifts. We ventured out on Christmas Day to have a look.
It took Mom, Dave, Bryan and Katie six hours to dig us out.
For the record, if you’re going to be snowed in somewhere, Gramma’s is the place!

Somehow, Santa found us…
Despite a blizzard that put us about 200 miles off our intended course this week, Santa found Ava and Olivia at Gramma Great’s house, where we camped out for five days and watched the wind whip the snow into six foot drifts. More photos soon!
A letter to Santa
Dear Santa,
What will you give to me this year? Whatever you bring, I will appreciate. Please bring Olivia something good.
Please be careful in the snowstorm. I wish next year I could ride along in your sleigh.
I know I said I would appreciate anything you bring me, but I would really like a cupcake factory. I hope you bring presents for the grown-ups, too.
And did you know that I am going to be five, and I am going to go to Disneyland to see Cinderella?

Ava: Is Mrs. Claus real?
Bec: What do you think?
Ava: I don’t know…
Bry: Of course she is. Do you think Santa is organized enough to pull off something as big as Christmas all by himself? He needs a woman’s help.

Slip and slide
Mom captured a video of Ava sledding down their hill while the kids stayed there over the weekend. The outcome was somewhat thorny, but all’s well that ends well!

Snow fun
Ava and Olivia are at my mom’s this weekend, enjoying general spoiling and lots of snow. Ava was finally able to make a snowman, with Grampa’s help.
